Openstream were contracted to implement a cloud based system for reporting Health and Safety issues and information for a North Sea Operator. The client required a way of communicating with staff in multiple locations, as well as allowing them to access and update the system from whichever onshore or offshore environment they were working from. Based on the client's requirements and direct consultation with HSE representatives and end users we created a cloud service platform utilising Microsoft Azure Cloud Services.
An initial test environment was created using Microsoft Windows server 2012 r2 and Microsoft SQL server 2012. Developers were able to make changes to the system as it evolved and the infrastructure used provided roll back functionality should any changes have a negative impact on the environment. Users were also able to interact with the test system to aid speedy development.
Openstream arranged training for users and assisted the HSE team to develop company specific user guides.
The final production environment was then migrated into a live server environment with the development system kept for ongoing system testing and development.
